can't really see going on is that the

laptop I use to edit all the videos when

we're clunk last night and I'm busily

rebuilding and reloading all the

operating systems and I've had fun for

us for hours but I think Amelia see this

Bev and I have been shopping again

so what will we go in here baby whoo we

have a new light yeah we only need the

one oh no it's got a white switch I need

a black one oh yeah great yeah but

that's really the only issue really that

comes with a white switch yeah well

that's not I don't know if you can see

here this one I know this one is all

crowded but what we're going to do is

this is above our kitchen and we've got

one there which is above Rafi above our

sink but we've decided that we need

another one just about here yeah so that

we've got a lot more light in our

kitchen this one will be going about

here so that it illuminates this side of

the kitchen yeah because we we we just

need a bit more light in the kitchen

because Bev loves cooking as you know at

the the hob why you're pointing

everywhere but where the light is okay

okay well anyway Bev need some more

light so that lights gonna go up there

to illuminate this area yeah but you're

doing this area the idea is to put this

one right here so we can eliminate this

side of the kitchen because not when

they're illuminates all I like to about

here so I need to do this side and get

more brightness here the corroded one

she was showing you over there will be

swapped I put in behind here but we've

got another one you can see the light

which is very difficult to see this one

will go there that one will go there and

then that will be other side because

this cow is supposed to use for storage

so that is the plan yay and if you just

come over here and focus on the light

this one as well as being corroded there

somebody's had a real pig's ear job of

gluing the switch on and their little

rocker switch is broken so this meant it

there's a 10 C jet as you can see it's

got a bad switch so I have bought eight

dozen new switches a dozen a new rockers

and a dozen new little serines so this

is gonna get chicken dine refurbished

refix well things are not going

according to plan but that's normal

I've praised as a part in all the

insides of fair light which is not good

it's obviously not meant to be prised

apart obviously what there appears to be

and that's very difficult to see is

there's like too little copper bleeds

vyas that way I think the idea is you

push a wire in like that and a lot of

copper bleed as you push the wire in it

deflects tine like that and then if you

try to pull the wire back the little

blade stops are coming out but these

have got lips these got like special

metallic crimps on the end which I think

I meant to catch that little copper

bleed whereas I wouldn't have that what

I might do is put a little blob of

solder on the end mmm and it is pulls

back the blob of solder but catch could

well be anyway we've got to experiment

to see what works yeah so Webb's going

to be doing some experimenting well I'm

well I'm trying to remove our Stern

light because unfortunately because of

the position of our dinghy nobody can

see thee nobody can see our stone light

so it's got to be moved but because

there's nuts on it are quite small I've

got a huge array of spanners and all

sorts of stuff out bomb face a they've

all failed

and it's my pointy nose pliers one of my

many pointy nose pliers that have come

to my rescue in this case so it's one of

the reasons you really do need quite a

few tools on a boat because

unfortunately you'll always find

something that doesn't quite work hey

I've succeeded I've got the wire out

the light is removed as with all these

things as a way and in this particular

case the way was to press on the button

there at the bottom

off well while I being outside

Beverley's obviously had fun in games

with the light fitting the light

fittings well have done as I've taken

off the chrome plating and you can see

where it wasn't says the brother

tarnishes so I could maybe polish this

up but at least now at law eventually

yeah but I finally got this in these

little devils button whoops just two

tiny little stubs here oh I see them and

they have to push through there and

there and then these do breeze here

spring against the side of the fitting

and they're what holds it all together

so the whole thing's held together these

two little doobie fittings and in the

well Hindus call them Beverley rather

doobie fittings and you can see here Wow

yes it's broken that's why it was always

a dodgy switch yes because what happens

in was this the switch then comes off

the little reed relay inside yeah and

basically it's just touching it enough

to make it flicker there's a bad

connection and it shorts yeah but you

can see there that was shattered you can

see that the it's broken and that was

what were the issue was yeah with those

but gosh definitely a little so to put

these together you push the wires in

through the holes till they lock you put

that inside the body you fit the ring

first and then you push the switch in

through the ring hole to clip into this

and that's how it's done is sorting out

fiddling with the light switches I'm

going to be fiddling with this rather

interesting bracket which I bought

yesterday now I'm gonna be attaching

that that's actually galvanized and I'm

going to be attaching that to a

stainless steel pipe well idea well

number one didn't work this just isn't

it's just not sticky enough so Beverley

has come up with a different idea

oops which will hopefully look at in a

second

yessiree it's a bit of gaffer tip and it

will just initially this we think this

is actually stainless I think the packet

was just so dirty it look like Galva

yeah but it could well be stainless but

we're doing this just to make sure that

there's no provide yeah well victory is

ours we finally got the ball but you can

already see that my our idea isn't quite

gonna pan out so what I'm gonna do is

I'm going to cable everything up that

way I know how much clearance have got

to make leave for the bulb and the

cabling and then I'm going to create

some kind of interesting thing here no

idea what yet but it's just normal

normal boats it never quite goes

according to plan so three years and

four days later yeah

I've finally got this in and there is an

alright these two little tiny clips yep

snap in behind these two little tiny

clips here yeah so what you've got to do

is you've got to get this unit to slab

that in there under that and then that

little one there snaps in like that

these two press by

against the side of the debris holding

it stiff once you have these in place

you can then take the switch put it in

there and press hard and the switch will

snap into that little hole and that

little hole and that's how you do it but

getting this ring into that thing it's a

right nuisance so I'm hoping that all

the other ones I don't have to put the

ring in yeah but at least Beverly has

sauced out so you basically put the ring

on first ring goes on first and then

it's got to go I don't know how visible

it will babe there's a tiniest little

plastic clip yes is minut right maybe

I'm we can see that I'll try to film a

close-up of it later okay but but that

does that and then you take your wires

and you Ram them into those holes and

with a bit of luck everything is good to

go but the switch isn't I think I've got

one in here that needs to be done I

think the real problem to be quite

honest is getting this ring in that

getting the ring in was the hardest bit

the other ones the Rings are already in

place and what I'm hoping is I can just

pull the body out behind to put a new

body in and then just don't get away oh

here's hoping bath cos you've got quite

a bit to do oh look at that it's shiny

longer piece of wire that will sort that

out and now I know exactly how much

bended you've got and all that sort of

stuff but I've got to sort this out now

designs what we've decided is

alt from here with a washer and not that

will keep that sealed there's going to

be a gap but will as long as we allow

water to run through it will never

collect the bits appealing is then going

to go on the back of what and then the

bolt will go through here as well

through that and it will finally end up

on this side so the bolt is going to go

through the light through this beauty

through there and into here because that

will be what actually clumps this

together well we finally got this

bracket drilled it went through to drill

bits because of course this is stainless

steel bracket and ah

drill bits were from China to the job

but because I used the cheap ones to

start we've had to read we've bought

some new drill bits and we've basically

had to redo it again

well Bev did because she didn't trust me

but they go yeah we had a great plan for

our bracket to hold our Stern light on

up but there is one major problem just

isn't working so what was the

fundamental flaw basically it just turn

to wobbly the clump really was it's just

too wide too wide for the pipe we have

yeah it's too wide for the pipe we

thought it would be a great plan but

it's just too much the pipe so back to

the drawing board

well this is plan 2

and what we're doing is we're using a 25

mil peak lip now I'm gonna have to order

up another 25 mil peak lip but in the

means

we're using good old cable ties which

seem to be the default go-to on this

boat hopefully coming down oh yeah it's

gonna work the velcro right a bit at a

time I'm using these just to push the

velcro apart

that's all I'm using this form we have

coughed a push apart - no Bo got scraper

paint scraper yeah but is up with a

point not something with them blade oh

yeah oh my god you won't believe what's

playing with her computer today so I did

this you did do this and you've done

heat shrink on yet true

yeah but the acid test is what let's

just turn it down thing on and see if

the boat blows up Hey as you can see

we've got light and I can turn that one

off or I can turn that one off turn this

one on or turn them both on and other

lights in the boat like over here are

still working and save mine so in other

words they're all wired correctly in

parallel yeah so now that he's done that

it's got to get the heat shrink on and

put it all back together yep and if you

don't have heat shrink then I would

recommend amalgamating tape because

that's a good idea because it doesn't

leave horrible sticky residues it does

not leave horrible sticky residues but

I'm not being paid you know that's the

thing although yes I agree I was playing

with my computer but somebody was paying

me to do so so money

I'm afraid has to be done so Beverly

went for the amalgamating tape solution

because the heat shrink wouldn't fit all

right let's do a test before we put it

off that's always a good plan

it was clearly par coming in yep

so this is final test time yep yep both

sides of the circuit and these are all

lit up and you can switch them off

independently independently yay all

independently going so that's perfect

now we've just got to put it up onto the

ceiling yeah yeah this is what it used

to be like this was the dark corner and

if you were doing anything over here it

was quite dark and difficult to say

because you often got in the way of this

light here so it's shielded this side

okay so now put the light on oh that's a

lot better I think our new light is

actually brighter brighter which in a

kitchen is no bad thing no bad thing

right so put that one on and put the

other one off but yeah the other one

does contribute like you know but isn't

that a lot better so as I say all we

need to do now is the obligatory

cleaning up but in there

Beverly has got just some potatoes

cooking because I had that much sauce

for the Shea cottage pie I couldn't put

the top part in yeah so um one way of

doing cooking and not actually pork

is to just wrap it in towels warm it's

not hot but it's warm
