After having our engine fixed in Beaumaris, we proceed on our cruise without a care in the world, knowing that all our engine issues are sorted out. Oops.......

anyway the as soon as she turned off the
engine all the electrics went okay so
wondering at the moment is an attorney
um informing pointy-head Coast Guard of
our situation hi for Palmeiras and Arvin
so
[Music]
it's my Bible Maris skipper Gators help
on our destination for this morning or
at least our first Waypoint to our
destination this morning is on the other
side of this boat here and you can just
make out the piers at midnight rich
lovely morning in the man I strip which
is more than can be said for last couple
of mornings in the man I straight
it's been absolutely ghastly over there
is the boatyard with ABC power services
paar marine and we can give them a
recommendation for fixing our engine
thank you very much ABC paar Marine
[Music]
once again we were passing through the
Swami's can to find a really good video
about this and watched it
[Music]
[Music]
we made a brief stop can Arvind to get
the latest information on Carnarvon bar
and to see gainers family once again so
mum might bump my daughter calls you
sassy so I'm losing weight what do you
say to that I'm losing weight what's
your normal comment when you say I'm
losing weight and you haven't said to
rejoin err there's always a beginner
with you putting in the weight points
for carbon bar this has been got off the
Harbormaster and it shows the track you
have to follow to get in and out of
Kenai River from the fairway boy right
up for pastor sandbar in and these are
groups and these are the GPS so what
we're doing is we're entering them or
gainer is this map we're entering them
into plotter and I've entered the first
one here can Alvin see one and it's just
there and this is what the chart hurt
chart has so this is why it's very
important to get the thus the boys from
conohan
know when we get there in reality we
shoot seen the the green boy and the red
boy on either side of this but it goes
to show you how far these have been
moved get yourself organized
there's definitely a key skill if you do
go for a cruisee live scale we've just
had a parcel delivered to the canal band
Harbor trusts pair of good ol salty
laughs well just you just have to think
ahead and it's Dasom
[Music]
so the all exciting thing that I want it
was my truffle guild wager book because
I'm still in the trefoil guild and I'm
now going to be completing all my silver
batch and I thought you would share with
you about that huh for my skill walls
I'm going to attempt my yacht master so
I think bourbon I did we're both going
to do it together but we've decided that
we really need to get our yacht master
because we need to be as prepared when
the crises happen which they seek to do
on salty lap so you know we've got to be
as prepared as we can be and at least by
doing the yacht master it will give us
some skills so we will be sharing that
part of our journey with you and I hope
you want to come along
I've were beaumaris and arvin say au
revoir can Arvin that was a really nice
stay we were only there one night but it
was very full-on we left from Aris in
the morning got kanava and we saw my
family we did the shopping we had
showers we did the washing and we got
some mail the plan was to seal straight
across the Irish Sea to Graystone's but
after we cross can Arvin bar the sea was
quite swelling and we had a strong wind
more or less on the nose
we reef both sales and put the wind on
our beam and headed for our turnip
destination of course denying on the
clean peninsula
as always our plans have gone astray and
we're gonna go to great stones in
Ireland now we're going to go to Port
dinkle in Wales which receive a claim of
the tablets right over and the wind is
coming from that direction I think I'd
like to scope this with the wind but
frankly a happy thought this I haven't
got a clue
[Music]
well Evan I currently anchor so family's
done the calculations and I'm hoping
it's all gonna be alright ball talk and
we'll share with those calculations with
you in a minute but but we are at least
two anchor and we return a little place
called poor-poor de noir it no pause
dinner in I'll have to spell that for
you because it's clearly I haven't got
it betting for a pretty little place and
I can imagine that's we're in autumn now
oh I like it now actually to be honest
so doesn't need to be summer or whatever
I like it now so here we are at poor
Dylan okay so what we've got here is
this is where we are currently at one
meter one meter and that's where we are
at this moment in time so we're actually
quite low close to low water but we've
got 2.7 under the keel so what that
means is that if it was lower
that's 1.7 under the keel at low water
so that's what we've got a high water
it's going to be four point three meters
depth plus our free board and everything
so that's going to be five meters so
beverly's put out as so we put out 30
meters of change so hopefully we have
got our calculations correct but that's
what we've got there
ah
this is where we anchored last night
well the pretty little face to be honest
but although it'd be nice to explore
this place the when weather is good
hopefully for going across oh I don't
think you can see it in this video but
that red light up there is flickering
I'll just put the engine light on let's
see if that works better
okay so we've noticed this flickering
right we're not really in the best
positions to do anything about it here
so we've gone quickly through the
options and the closest place was
24-hour access is falling ahead but
we're going to have to get a shimmy on
because we've got the tie going with us
after five hours then the tie goes
against and it's going to be difficult
getting into Hawley head butt so it
means we just need to get shimmy on I
thought because the the lighter it's
flickering the most probable cause is
that something in the alternator is gone
maybe for instance when it got hosed
down with water one of the diodes got
wet of something like that but the thing
is we've got to get it checked and okay
so bubbly and I hope to do the what
happens if your engine fails to fit
under nice happy conditions but as
always we're going for the steep
learning curve so what's just happened
is we came off the mooring and Beverly
well basically Beverly noticed that the
lights are flickering which basically
means that you've got an alternator
issue now where we were on the Anchorage
there's nowhere to actually deal with
that so what we've decided to do is
we're sailing to Holly head because
there's a good chance there and there'll
be good people to sort out the issue as
soon as Beverly turned off the engine
all
I really see them but that moment was
caused by those lobster pots over there
Beverly was videoing me so yeah anyway
so there's good people to deal with the
alternator
anyway the as soon as she turned off the
engine all the electrics went and that's
because there was a surge in the
electricity supply and that turned off
the main breaker so I've turned on the
main break and we have got electric on
the boat we're charging the batteries
through our solar panels but in the
whales we can do really the only other
alternative is to go back to their
moorings and just see we can find
somebody there the wind picked up and so
does our speed as we headed across
Carnarvon bay we changed under our
follies and settled over a passage
[Music]
[Applause]
situation and with a view that at least
they know where we are and that we're
still in contact and they need us to
give us another log in an hour's time
your honor because the UK is incredibly
tight
we're on a North going stream at the
moment so we're currently making what
we're making that way 6.1 knots speed of
a grind and I figured of ease in the me
and I okay so we did 6.1 knots events
that's gonna ease the manor so that we
come home more speed to look about that
speed the angle the angle just calm the
angle we want to keep the stress
anything and things going wacky
so yeah so we're doing six point what we
now know cuz I Spit with one lower we're
still doing six knots don't worry about
it okay so we're doing six knots
well that was getting worse
weathers getting worse but the thing is
we've got to be able to make the
north-south stack which is at the bottom
of Anglesey by a particular time which
is about twelve o'clock one o'clock one
o'clock damn lucky if we do and we'll be
very lucky to be there so we've got to
be able to make that so we've got a sort
of like make time which is why we're
doing six knots because if we do six
then that will just bring down our speed
