We leave Belfast Lough and head back to Liverpool, getting a mix of weather and sea. We also plan our new solar arch and get a welcome committee of dolphins!...

okay so we're getting in five oh five
knots there and we're getting a seven
through the water
[Music]
which part a character Liverpool as my
credit card had expired and the new one
was at my flat in Liverpool we pass
through Copeland signed in calm water
but still getting several knots of tidal
assistance to that it was just a matter
of hoisting the sails and heading for
the Isle of Man
[Music]
no very flashy and we've just got the
the Jenny on the two wreaths
so it's not a not grave one wreath so we
have little dots on ours so the one dot
means it's first read whereas to doctors
secondary so but the thing is the sales
been balanced which is really good this
is what it's about
say well we've reached that part of the
evening real is virtually new ended all
say is just like big rolling jelly light
swells
[Music]
you seem
[Music]
see the number of dolphins our purposes
possibly will minke whale
[Music]
yattaman is over there in the distance
under the Clyde and we've just got two
hours to go with this long line would
gently rolling swell we're getting it's
not pleasant
[Music]
it's your forecast for the next day it
was still windy in the marina but at
least we did not have yet fruit leaves
to contend with
well the prototype it again for this
time it's an idea so we're all we've
done is we this wonderful
[Music]
so after prototyping we move to the
advanced modeling stage of the project
and so the advanced computer modeling
goes on down below decks so that's one
corner of one arch this is highly
technical stuff do not attempt this at
home this is all being done by a trained
professional in dreams and you laughed
at my ready prototype in of course it's
all these are laugh at somebody else's
yeah you're using matches for this
prototype yeah so there's one part of
the sort sort of arch debate yeah you
really pulled my leg my shower curtain
it wasn't a shower curtain it was a
storm curtain I know I mean it the sort
of arch construction needs a bit of
reinforcement
yeah but I mean the idea of a storm
curtains I'd only ridiculous bro this on
the other hand it's not it's not
pretension to be anything other than a
model so the idea is that the idea is
that this bit gets mitered on the back
of salty last on a couple of brackets to
go back at 60 degrees the backstay will
then come down here through there and
thus be out of the way and this bit here
will be mounted on the transom and cut
to such a length it it can then go there
and we will have some stays join them to
mike the two together so that they
become rigid this is wholly complex work
you know there's only a few people in
the world capable of such technical
modeling but you need a prototype and
then you can look see what it's like and
then yes his approach type made out of
matchsticks possibly so the two arches
will then be joined by these struts up
here there will be some struts on the
side too but there are limits to my
models kit some limits but you get the
idea
we're gonna make these struts so that
this would be the ones at the back this
would be the one that's 60 degrees yeah
and they'll be in a frame for solar
panel the other thing we want a mounted
on there is aa stern right stone light
would go on about here but it would be
minded high-ups the thing you would be
doing here summer up against this and
there might even be room for a wind
generator to sit here and an a is area
to sit here o solar panel would be on
top of a a mic that was set on top of
these struts yeah and that is the highly
technical plan so have you missed it
your Outlook it all come together
he bumped into some friends and had a
bit of a chat next day look good so
[Music]
[Music]
there's a few people behind us
[Music]
yeah I just want to say that this rather
sporting little sea state is slight
we arrived at CAF signed a notoriously
tricky stretch of water and waited for
the slack water period to commence once
that happened it was fill speed ahead
[Music]
well you say before it was against the
water for us you can see that it's
guarding that rock yes as soon as Mary 3
we went close the Spanish had to avoid
currents near the signed and then we
traveled through the night back toward
never felt spending our time watching
the bioluminescence in the stars
[Music]

this jacket is
frança journeys like a story of a
journey because I was a brownie leader
for many years but had loads of badges
from being a brownie leader I decided to
have a jacket and these badges to
describe a journey so it's not enough to
lock down here this was this was a hot
trend through the Caledonian canal to
San fails there's current burgers and
those valves go down after the dolphins
we made the long journey down Queen's
Channel and back into the Mersey and
then to Liverpool Marina
