we're looking at our anchor chain
snaking away into the distance in the
beautiful bay
of act jelly the name is on the screen
right now for
proper spelling on shore there are
absolutely no facilities whatsoever
so what is it that makes this bay so
attractive
it is a very very big bay
plenty room for lots of yachts to come
in here
drop their anchor and swing freely
another great thing about this bay is
the fact that it is mostly sand with a
few
weed patches we are currently in five
meters of water
with 30 meters of chain out and she dug
in perfectly and she stayed in
all night looking to the east we can see
the sun just about to come up over the
ridgeline
here we are looking south as you can see
the bay
is very very open out here to the north
and in this particular part of the world
the prevailing wind
is generally from the north or from the
north east
so anchoring in this bay is very
dependent on which way the wind is
blowing
that piece of land on the horizon is
mainland turkey and
we'll find bodrum just up there if you
go around the corner you go to gamoshlok
and onwards to the didim area
this island that we can see across here
with the clouds above it
is the greek island of kos if the wind
is blowing from the right direction and
you just want somewhere to drop the
anchor for a good night's sleep
i can definitely recommend this
