In this episode of Sailing A B Sea we check out the amazing hot springs and receive more gifts from a friend. #SailingABSea A brief history of our story and ...

As a passenger this is a little bit
unnerving to say the least because on
the passenger side I'm looking down a
sheer cliff and there are parts where
the road is crumbling and on the other
side there's obvious signs of rock fall
The boatyard here is just a little over 2 kilometers north of the town of Limni, well I say a town it's
more of a quaint Greek fishing village
but it has everything we need. The only
problem is it's a bit of a hike there
and back especially if you're going
shopping and you've got a load of goods to bring back
Luckily the yard supplies this scooter
for guests to use they also give you
skid lids so you're pretty safe as well
Today we are going through the town of
Limni to the other side and we're going
to see a ... We're going to see monastery
that's inhabited by nuns so I suppose it
should be a nunnery or a convent but anyway, it's a
monstery. It's called Galataki and it's
just along the beach road on the other
side of Limni. A bit cloudy and overcast
today compared to the last three days which was
glorious sunshine but you know take what you
get and you roll with the punches.
Yes so hopefully we'll be able to get
some good footage of the views for you.
I've got to focus now because these roads
through Limni are quite narrow
As a passenger this is a little bit
unnerving to say the least because on
the passenger side I'm looking down a
you know sheer cliff and there are parts
where the road is crumbling and on the
other side there's obvious signs of rock
fall, lots of little rock fall. How about you Baz, driving?
It's a... it's a very
nerve-wracking road. It's just really
sketchy! And coz it's so narrow you know
every now and then a car comes in the
opposite direction and so it's like, Okay
how close to the edge can we get it before we go over it! Yeah it's very very dodgy.
Yeah, ooh that's a nice view, I'll show you this
Looks beautiful doesn't it?
We have arrived. We have, thank God
literally
It's real shame that the sun is kind of
blocked out by a hazy cloud today
because the views here are absolutely
spectacular across to mainland Greece
and we can see little fishing boats
puttering along the coastline here
This is wrong
Flossy on the sat-nav hasn't got a clue
I was gonna swear that but I won't. She
keeps bringing us back to a place that has no ways out.
I think Saturday night she
was out on the town last night and she hasn't got her
head together this morning.
Turn left then turn left
Shut up! She keeps trying to take us
to a place that we cannot get out of so
we're going to go the way that we know
it's probably a bit longer but it's
definitely workable
We're on our way to Istiaia again.
Again yeah we're going over the mountain pass again
basically just a few more things
on the shopping list and maybe even some shoes for Aannsha
Yes coz mine have got - the rubber's gone
really hard and it's getting a bit
slippy underfoot now. A nice day for it
The sun is shining, a few clouds up north but not too many so its probably gonna be sunny
as well up there. Yeah fairly mild.
Yeah, Mild. That's the key word
The shopping trip to Istiaia was a bit of a blowout really
we walked up and down the main
street and went into a couple of shops
but it's all winter stuff and it's all
very much designed towards the farmer if
you like, or high-end
shopping so there's no in between sort
of shopping there. No so that's
alright (it was a bit of a blow out) we'll wait until the
spring clothes come out yeah so we've
moved on and we'd come to Loutra yeah
Edipsos which is - Edipsos and Loutra are the same thing yeah - close together - and the
reason why we've come here is because
they have hot springs and we've spotted
them on the beach. Yeah now you can pay a
lot of money and go into a hotel like
that and have a hot spring bath and you know be pampered and stuff, or ... they've actually got the
hot springs inside the hotel so they've
built the hotel over the spring. Or you can do what we're
just about to do and brave the weather
cuz you know it's cold now. It is chilly and
walk through the sea waves and find the
hot springs and have a paddle
Come and have a look
Well that was well worth the price of
admission which is free by the way
It was awesomeness!
Yeah I've seen hot springs in California
but never never like this, these are
really spectacular
oh yeah. It's amazing how the minerals form
those shapes and colours. Mmm it's
beautiful absolutely beautiful so if
you're in this part of the world ever
do come here it's fabulous. I think we
were lucky coming in winter or not
summer. Yeah I reckon it would be packed to the
rafters in summertime but yeah and that
one on the small beach further up that's
that's very hot. Too hot. You can't put your hand in
there. No. I mean I put the finger in away that's
a bit burny yeah because that's
straight straight out whereas the others
pool. Yeah pooled. But if you like
to collect sea glass this is also a great place. I saw your hoard. Massive! Oh! I was like
a kid in a chocolate factory, it was Wow!
Here's our favourite friend in Greece hello
There's two things in here and you're only
allowed to see one of them. Ooh
This is cumquat jam. Oh yum I love cumquats. From the trees in ... Thank you
so much I love cumquats. Kalliope makes the jam. Thank you to Kalliope.
No! They're mine! Ah those chocolate truffles!
So a bag of goodies from Nikos and all
battery-powered stuff so
interchangeable batteries. A nice grinder
I mean it's not giving us these things
he's lending us these things and when we
going to Porto Rafti when we launch we will hand back
Yeah the boat will
become that much lighter in the water that
you'll see a change in the waterline!
So this particular tool is the one that I'm interested in because this
when we fit it on is an oscillating saw
if you like and this will let us cut the
fiberglass away from the keel bolts and
then allow us to inspect the keel bolts
Hopefully we're not opening Pandora's box
The battery charger of course, extra battery
there. Just a ton of stuff which will all
be used especially since we did the
research on routing out the keel and
hull join so that we can put the proper
thing in there that's flexible and seal that up properly
Oh sweet.
So these tools are going to be invaluable.
Yes Nikos is our magic helper in
Greece isn't he? Yes.
And Kalliope is the magic
cook. She is yeah. Cool thank you
In last week's video we had well, I
had a bit of a mental breakdown if
you like and we shared that with you
guys and girls on YouTube and you guys
and girls shared something really
special back you really gave us words of
encouragement and lots of support the
support was just brilliant so thank you
very much for that it's really lifted up
my spirits and our spirits and yeah I
think we're ready forward. Yeah yeah we certainly are. And one person in particular who is
Steve Brunning yes, first of all thank you
Steve for sending us an email and
telling us how inspiring you think that
we are and the things that we do on our
channel. Thanks. And Steve also very
kindly donated some money to our Buy
Us A Beer Fund and we've bought ourselves a
really nice bottle of wine at your
suggestion. It's a Greek cab sav and we're
gonna sit here as the sun goes down
just on the on the boat yard. We're the
only tourists in town again and we're
gonna enjoy this nice bottle of wine yeah thank you very much for your generosity. Thank you
If you've enjoyed our video do give us a
thumbs up and if you haven't already
subscribe and hit the bell icon so that
you're notified of future video updates
and Cheers and thanks for all the
support. Yeah cheers. We appreciate it
Mmm. You know what that would go well with?
Steak!
Chicken tonight though!
Oh well!
That's really nice isn't it. It is good wine yeah
