we are now in cat :
no random looking place it's quite
derelict looking Internet map yes don't
Stephanie it's that people used to live
it whether we have a more granular no
we're going to have a little explore and
see and what's here the guys just rocked
up with a piece of paper and obviously
take our mooring fees on a piece of
cardboard not really sure whether it's
real or not but it's 10 euros per night
two more here and you can use the
electric and also there's water here as
well which is quite good so I think
we're going to top up with water here
it's just 5 euros per night and there's
facilities for washing so I'm going to
have a look totally and it's about
Holiday Monday tomorrow so we're not
sure whether we can or not we want to
get up to Olympia so quite excited to
see that I get quite excited about lots
of things in these videos or I'm very
excited but I'm easily pleased so let's
suppose we can get on a little train
which is going to thank us up to Olympia
and go and have it all the really cool
stuff up there so that's our date what's
your head
awesome the ghost town has to deliver
and
[Music]
that tells me that we're going to be
taking a train up to Olympia tomorrow
and I am hoping this is not this one
it's the end of the hand we couldn't
believe how quiet and still everything
was all the restaurants and bars were
hardly open and neither were any of the
shops I did spot Cafe Del Mar but I
don't think any of the top DJ's will be
here this week the export center of a
unique product and Corinthian current or
the references to the traders prodigious
Maritimes main cast have been in England
just around the corner from the harbour
this little beach today we're going to
the Olympic Stadium Olympia and quite
intrigued to find out what's going to be
there apparently there's some big
columns and from the days first Olympics
and we're really interesting to find out
lots of cool stuff about there
after seven o'clock to catch the 22-9
train but because that is just coming
they're not now putting the Train on
until 10 o'clock so I collect for the
cruise ship passengers so we went and
got on the train
sat there for 10 minutes and then
accountant told us that they're not
leaving for an hour
so we're back on the boat to get coffee
and wait the thousands of people that
are going to race down we've got a beat
to the Train it's going to be a marathon
hey it's like training for the Olympics
the train ticket from here cost 10 euros
returned it's 25 miles inland and takes
around about 45 minutes oh and the train
had aircon awesome doctor kids tickets
22 euros down 24 years 12 euros each
yeah German get to the museum and to the
stadium not cheap hopefully it's worth
it you only get a concessionary ticket
if you were born before they started the
Olympic sorry if you're 65 years or
older make sure you take your passport
with you as you get in for Half Price
so welcome to Olympia the home of the
first ever Olympic Games they believe a
long time ago that this whole site went
underwater this is why you can see shell
marks all over some of the stones
[Music]
we've been stacked on top of each other
that cover the wheel and then something
placed in the middle to make them go
like that and then major coated with a
big tarp on top of Janus and water shell
flow this is the Crypt as they call it
the archway taking you down to the big
stadium like to thank you for this
camera award for my long-distance
running here at the Olympic Stadium
thank you
not much of the stadium actually still
exists
but it was quite funny to watch
everybody do the starting line and run
as fast as they could
the competition consisted of track and
field events and hear great Greek heroes
were born there were no gold silver or
bronze medals won here back in their
first Olympics your prizes consisted of
palm leaves and olive branches the
museum really is quite impressive full
of artifacts found on the site and
preserved inside including the guy on
his mobile phone apparently
[Music]
there's time so you're either the water
floating go go go go trans Easterns it
you hit there
we just can't believe our luck I look
down I spotted 20 euros go Mac go go go
the motors on the back of the boat did
you get it
captain's log yes definitely captain's
log 20 euros sound floating in the water
cheer me the 20 is real
oh did you grab him
Thanks that's really simple innocent
person adjust for them this year and
it's come out of the cockpit is a bit
and fell into this Yogi's are Yama hey
head off your beard pedal for your beer
catecholamine only exists because of the
cruise ships to come and bust people
from the town Oh to Olympia and catch as
much passing trade in the restaurants
and bars and shops as possible
[Music]
it's funny we had a few people come
walking past the boat that come off the
cruise ships and they all said how
envious they were of us on our tiny
little boat even though they walked off
this amazing luxury cruise ship so yes I
guess we are lucky and we have to remind
ourselves every single day so when we
set sail for a new port the amazing
places we're going to see and the
fantastic people we're going to meet we
motored for most of the day and then as
usual just before we get into port here
comes the wind we managed to get the
sails up for the last hour or so
[Music]
keep up with history forever kippa risky
air this is a key Borussia we are slide
on to the key and I don't mean if you
can see them anymore as we came in
there's loads of big giant turtles in
the water I'm going to try and spot
something for them for you it's the bee
and quite a good place for them it's
very windy it literally just picked up
as we came in
looks very derelict but nice and clean
and tidy so exploring that well but got
good sale six and a half knots on the
way in which is really nice
finally to turn off the motor after a
few hours which is just constant noise
so we're here and hopefully in a couple
hours this wind should die down and
we'll be able to just flex a little bit
it was driving there you go no I was
talking the tassels on my way up to the
driver but I think I did really well we
couldn't draw that on the compass of
trouble I tried so hard to get some
pictures of the tassels they were just
so camera shy they might look small much
bigger
see like I know this is my job
you're gonna be myself to be done with
it required
but quite a weird went quiet in the fact
that this place is open they're empty
but so I it's just different getting
used to been in local place rather than
the tourist place ever also windy really
has been tourist places what do you
think the differences are everybody
thinks that all Greece is just rows of
two burners also in the same food
reality is there it was very quiet
walking up into town but there are a few
families playing and drinking coffee and
in square we ended up staying here for
quite a few days we got stuck here you
see there was quite a few thunderstorms
happening at the time and we really
wanted something really cool for dinner
so you stumbled across this the old
train station presentation dozen issues
in Greece the CPA
or Nestle and love his big fingers it
was so nice to be not on the key anymore
and suddenly back on the ocean waves
[Music]
this cell became very interesting as the
waves picked up and so did the wind
[Music]
as we came in the winds were really high
we decided not to go on the key and took
ourselves to a nice anchoring spot where
we chilled down after a really busy day
played cards drank wine
chatted and has the good sleep so just
arrived in pillows marina after night
anchor last night and got moored up and
now we're heading into town to do a bit
of exploring and see what I can find
[Music]
last night in fellows we anchored around
about there which is pretty good had a
good night's sleep was a little bit
Rolly but not as bad as it has been so
it was a nice to be an anchor after a
very very long time
I've been second key
[Music]
I
[Music]
okay
[Music]
you
[Music]
it's very odd to think the Battle of
Navarino bein happened here in 1827 on
the 20th of October tako Egyptian fleet
waited in the Bay Codrington and his
fleet entered they were surrounded but
they carried on anyway the thing was
they had less ships and less ammo but
Codrington wanted the battle anyway he
made his way through and won
I wonder how many cannonballs still lay
under this water oh and I wonder could
there be any treasure
[Music]
after exploring around the town we
treated ourselves for our favorite lunch
chicken duros which is basically greek
fast-food only two euros each der
bargain when we got back to the boat
this local guy was waiting for us we've
been warned about him as the guy comes
and claims that is from the port and
tries to get money from you that's
actually not so he soon sent him packing
we've seen this a few times now our
travels there's this little Yacht Club
down at the port and the kids after
school come and get taught how to sail
has to be better than computer games and
iPads Shirley
[Music]
today's sale we're heading to muthoni it
should be it may be another hour from
where we are right now and doing six
knots which was insane and we are did
our first live chat last night on the
internet which is fantastic and we got
chat so those of you out there which
fire it was nice to find out the lots of
some different countries are watching is
and enjoying what we're doing it's
really hard for me to be away from
Charlie all the time
but whenever I can I get on FaceTime and
show him what we're up to
[Music]
wave to the camera there is so we're
something about all day and editing
mostly and trying to get the next
episode together and we're in Maui
muthoni and we've got a really cool
fault and but the weather is really bad
and it's been gray and windy all day and
there's a swell rolling in folks rolling
around so we just want to get off and
get off it and dry run for a little
while I think
[Music]
the following morning we got up bright
and early ready to go and check out the
castle
on our way round we picked up this
really cool dog he followed us although
sadly for everybody's information this
place is closed on a Monday and that's
the day we chose to go so we thought
we'd have a little look around the
outside
[Music]
oh yeah and here's our little dog again
[Music]
[Music]
thank you
[Music]
this is our first taste of the
Peloponnese it was a little bit
different to what I expected and there's
loads more yet to come next time on
selling creo we visit a small town of
Afyon which is a place that not many
people get to we also visit the caves of
Duras which are absolutely amazing and
then we contemplate a game of cricket on
the back of our friends venatori Oceanus
